ALEX FERGUSON has told new signing Zoran Tosic to draw inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Manchester United boss unveiled the 21-year-old Serbian following his transfer window switch from Partisan Belgrade. And having developed Ronaldo from promising teenager to world star, Ferguson plans to repeat the trick with Tosic. He said: "We would like everyone to turn out like Cristiano. "There is a difference because Ronaldo had this fantastic dribbling ability, whereas Zoran is more straightforward. "But the point is we are planning for the future and the challenge any young player should set himself, no matter which club he is with, is to get to the very top. "We are all proud of Cristiano achieving the status he has. But it is a two-way street. "The player must have the personal ambition, the desire and drive to succeed. "But he also owes a lot to Manchester United for nurturing and encouraging him in the proper way at the right times." Ferguson has also claimed tomorrow night's clash with Wigan is a tougher game than last weekend's 3-0 win over Chelsea. He added: "The hard work has not been done just because we have beaten Chelsea. “This is a harder one for us. It is one of our games in hand, and we have to win."
